DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

About Me

I’m very lucky I get to do what I do. Every day brings new ideas and challenges, with new opportunities to collaborate and come up with something fun and interesting to do. While working on Heart of Darkness, Orson Welles said, “This is the biggest electric train set a boy ever had!” (He later abandoned that project but, c’mon, his first film was Citizen Kane.) For me it’s not just about the toys but also the wonder of seeing new things, meeting new people and going to the most beautiful, exciting, and/or crazy places the world has to offer. But the toys are pretty great, too.

Thanks to my career I’ve shot on massive glaciers, active volcanos and rolling oceans, as well as the United Nations General Assembly, international combat zones, and on six of seven continents—if anyone’s shooting in Antarctica, I’m available!

I recently wrapped two exciting documentary projects but I can’t say anything about either one yet (sorry to be weird). However, I can say I shot two episodes of Clipped, a limited series about the LA Clippers/Donald Sterling scandal, available on Hulu; and First Time Female Director, a mockumentary film directed by and starring Chelsea Peretti, streaming on Roku. You can also see my work on I Love That For You, starring Vanessa Bayer, Molly Shannon, and Jenifer Lewis for Showtime; Life & Beth season one, starring Amy Schumer and Michael Cera for Hulu; The Dropout, starring Amanda Seyfried and Naveen Andrews, also for Hulu; four seasons of Search Party for HBO Max; and the feature comedy Good Boys for Universal Pictures. Other documentary credits include The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling, May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers, and Big Men; commercial clients include American Express, Microsoft, The Gap, Sprint, and The Oscars.
